Software Science, Inc., is a privately-held California corporation dedicated to consulting and the research and development of information systems that take advantage of contemporary microprocessor-based, network, and Internet computing technology.

The firm was founded in 1983 by Dr. George Rothbart, after he earned his doctorate in high energy experimental physics from Stanford University and served as a Senior Staff Scientist at Science Applications, Inc. in Palo Alto, California.

For over more than two decades, Software Science has implemented, delivered and maintained complex systems for database management, web sites and internet solutions, communications, financial transactions, transportation, law firms and the California court system, ecommerce and on-line retailing, real-time process and control, instrument monitoring and scientific data processing.

The company also provides off-the-shelf software and hardware products developed by Software Science, including software applications, programmers libraries, and electronic kits for thousands of customers world-wide.
