About TOPAZ 8.0, Delphi 8 and Delphi 9
(aka Delphi 2005)
You need TOPAZ version 8.0 to use it with Delphi 8
You need
TOPAZ version 8.0 + latest code patches to use it with Delphi 9 (Delphi
2005)
Code patches are available from our support site.
Currently TOPAZ does not support .NET. You can use TOPAZ to build Win32 applications.
Delphi 8 is a strange animal and the version number can be misleading. As part of Delphi 8 Borland ships Delphi 7 compiler for Win32 applications and Borland's first version of .NET compiler. TOPAZ version 8 works with Delphi 7 compilers. So if you are simply changing from Delphi 7 to Delphi version 8, there will be no changes.
Delphi 2005 comes with Delphi version 9 compiler for Win32 applications. Since Delphi 2005 was released later than TOPAZ 8, you have to apply code patches to TOPAZ. You can download the patches from TOPAZ support page. README.800 will have the instructions on how to install TOPAZ under Delphi 2005.
